From September 2 to 7, 2013, three officials working in the field of sewerage management visited Osaka from the Yangon City Development Committee (YCDC) in Yangon, Myanmar to attend lectures and visit sites related to sewers and sewage treatment.
The Osaka City Public Works Bureau and the Urban Infrastructure Technology Center Foundation have been providing technical cooperation to Yangon City since 2012. As part of this effort, we conducted this training with support from the Council of Local Authorities for International Relations (CLAIR).
We have visited Yangon five times to understand the situation and problems with the sewerage system in the city. Based on the knowledge we acquired through these visits, this training enabled us to successfully transfer useful technologies to Yangon.
