Visit to the State Unitary Enterprise for waterworks and sewage works and participation in a seminar in St. Petersburg, Russia

A delegation from the Osaka Water & Environment Solutions Association (OWESA) joined an Osaka City delegation visit to the city of St. Petersburg in the Russian Federation to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the sister-city affiliation between the two cities. The visit took place from Wednesday to Sunday, September 24 to 28, 2014 and various activities were conducted.
On September 25, OWESA's delegation visited Vodokanal (the State Unitary Enterprise for waterworks and sewage works). We visited their public relations facility and exchanged views on four fields of our work, namely waterworks, sewage works, investments in construction, and customer services.

In addition to presentations by municipalities, private enterprises also gave presentations at the Seminar.    The original purpose of our visit was to engage in promotional activity through a public-private sector partnership capitalizing on the occasion of sister-city exchanges. However, we were able to introduce our technologies in water and environment field to national and local government officials engaged in the same field in St. Petersburg. Moreover, it was a great opportunity for us to build business networks and to better understand their needs.
